Dr. Rosario Nennett Santos-Chua (Ronette) of the IKOT Chapter is a member of UPCM Class ’81.
Her medical specialty is Neonatology. She is the Medical Director of three neonatal intensive care units (NICU) all of which are in Indiana. Ronette has been in clinical practice for over 30 years with continuing dedication to medical education. Medical students rotate monthly on her various services. She has clinical faculty appointments in four medical and osteopathic medical schools in Indiana. Additionally, Ronette provides regular neonatal update lecture series to clinicians in her hospitals and the communities they serve. She is a regional trainer in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program of the American Heart Association. She leads ongoing state-sponsored research activities for her NICUs, focusing mainly on quality initiatives. Ronette’s work has been recognized by the local Indiana chapter of the March of Dimes and the Indiana Assembly.
Dr. Santos-Chua was president of the Indiana Philippine Medical Association from 2009-2011 and currently serves on its Board of Directors. She was UPMASA national corresponding secretary from 2010-2014, treasurer of the Indiana Kentucky Ohio Tennessee (IKOT) Chapter 2008-2010, and Chapter President 2015-2018. She was the recipient of the Above and Beyond UPMASA Presidential Award in 2019 and of the UPMASA National Award for Meritorious Service in 2021.
Dr. Ronette Santos-Chua is proud to serve as President of the Mu Sigma Phi Foundation beginning July 2022.
